At A Glance
Often described as "the new Tuscany", we think this area stands alone with a magnificent dramatic coastline that rises quickly to sheltering hills and on to jagged mountains. Numerous villages and towns dot the landscape and welcome the still-rare tourist.
Le Marche is served by direct flights to Ancona. Pescara and Bologna airports are also convenient for the region.

Apecchio, Pesaro-Urbina
More infoApecchio, in the Province of Pesaro e Urbino, is located about 90km west of Ancona and about 60km southwest of Pesaro. Apecchio is famous for to the Globe of Peace, which was until recently the world's largest rotating globe.
Corinaldo, Ancono
More infoCorinaldo is a remarkably pretty fortified hill town, preserved with it's medieval history. It boasts some of the best-preserved 15th century defensive walls in the Marche, with along long stretches of the battlements from which to admire the sweeping views.

San Benedetto del Tronto

Le Marche has taken the best ideas from it's neighbours and refined them to an art. Look out for Vincigrassi, a kind of lasagne made from chicken, tomatoes, mozzarella and parmesan. Meat dishes include rabbit, suckling pig and local hams.
