Rosa Bianca is an independent two-floor accommodation in one building, of Valguerriera, that also houses four other units. Rosa Bianca is private, has its own illuminated outside area for alfresco dining, and has been completely refurbished (2006) to a high standard. Valguerriera is a substantial multi-unit property, with four separate buildings, housing a total of 11 accommodation units.

From the furnished courtyard, which is perfect for al-fresco dining, you enter an arched doorway into the sitting/dining room with kitchen corner. The kitchen corner is very well equipped with a 4 gas ring stove, oven, sink, and fridge/freezer. Steps lead up to the first floor landing. Off the landing there are five double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room with WC. There are a further tow separate shower rooms with WC.

Valguerriera has ample parking and there is a beautiful shared pool (17m x 10m x 1.5m) is furnished and is a short walk away from Rosa Bianca.

Apecchio, Pesaro Urbina, Le Marche

The surrounding Le Marche countryside is idyllic, very peaceful with wooded hills and cool clean air. Indeed, we are in the central Apennine range of mountains, overlooking the Candigliano river valley, almost at the point where Le Marche, Tuscany and Umbria all meet. As such, this area is ideal as a base for exploring, especially the Renaissance centres of Urbino, Gubbio, Assisi and Perugia. The Republic of San Marino, San Leo and the Fortress of Gradara are also around one hour's easy driving distance.

Piobbico is 7 kilometres and possesses the essential shops, banks and chemists. Nearby Urbania has been a centre for ceramics since the 13th century and, today, the Casteldurante majolica is still highly prized throughout Italy.

Why Holiday in Le Marche?

Le Marche, also called The Marches in English, is situated on the eastern side of central Italy. It runs from the Adriatic beaches to the mountains of Appenines. Since most tourists visit he beaches,. Le Marche has remained untouched by mass tourism. Whenever tourists visit, their top destinations are Urbino, Pesaro and Ascoli Piceno, three of Le Marcheís principal towns.

Pesaro, another of the region's provincial capitals, is an appealing seaside resort and a thriving commercial town. Among its main attractions are the Fountain with Sea Horses and Triton, Palazzo Ducale, the Church of St. Ubaldo and the Pesaro Cathedral. Because of its proximity to the sea, this area attracts beach combers as well.

Ascoli Piceno, the provincial capital of Le Marche, is a beguiling town that is known for its marble-paved main square, one of the most beautiful places in Italy. Aside from this, Ascoli Piceno boasts of fabulous buildings that combine the romance of the medieval and the glory of renaissance architecture. Such buildings include the San Francesco, Loggia dei Mercanti and the Piazza del Popolo, to name a few.

Other towns worth visiting include the Ancona, one of Italy's ferry ports to Croatia, Greece and Turkey; the Macerata, a town famous for its annual outdoor festival; and the town of Sirolo, though just one of the many seaside resorts, it is considered the prettiest on the Conero peninsula.

Other than architectural wonders, Le Marche also offers tourists a wealth of natural beauty. Visitors can go to the Frasissi limestone caves, or the Furlo Gorge, a natural pass through the mountains that has been used since the prehistoric times.

The best time to visit Le Marche is between the months of May and September. Although the temperature may be hot, the region would be seen in its full glory. Visitors will feast their eyes on green landscapes with the first tints of autumn, beautiful flowers, and everything would be bathed in the golden rays of the sun.

If there is one undiscovered gem in Italy, then by all accounts, it is most probably the quiet and dignified region of Le Marche.

Le Marche is served by direct flights to Ancona. Pescara and Bologna airports are also convenient for the region.

How To Get There

The beauty of Le Marche is that it is accessible from a number of different airports, all with similar transfer times depending on where you want to fly from and where you are staying.

Direct Ryanair flights depart from Stansted and Liverpool to Ancona and Pescara, Mondays-Sundays. From Bristol, East Midlands, Manchester or Luton, we recommend flying to Rimini (Ryanair for Bristol/EM, Easyjet for Luton, Thomas Cook for Manchester), which is just north of Le Marche with many transfer times being similar to Pescara. There is a Gatwick option to Florence with Meridiana or to Rome Ciampino with Easyjet. Rome Ciampino can also be reached from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dublin and Newcastle (along with Luton, Gatwick, East Midlands and Bristol) and has the advantage of the route to Le Marche passing through some of the most beautiful mountainous regions down the spine of Italy.
