This family-friendly villa provides a wonderful combination of picturesque location and atmospheric surrounds, with great access to both beach and culture.

Villa Eraclea is an ideally-sized house for either a large family, group of friends, or even two smaller families holidaying together, as it has a good array of bedroom types. Add a golden ten-kilometre-long sandy beach, just 800 metres from the house, and you have the makings of a fantastic holiday.

At the heart of this villa is the large living/dining room with open fireplace and double access to rear terrace. Leading from here is a separate kitchen with door to front and four gas ring hob, oven, fridge, dishwasher and double sink unit. On this floor there is also a wonderful double bedroom with terrace doors and a bathroom with shower cabinet and WC.

Steps up to the first floor landing then lead to two single bedrooms, one with balcony and sea views. Finally there is a large double bedroom with two furnished balconies to front and rear, and a bathroom with a WC, etc.

The villa is perfect for families as it contains facilities such as a washing machine and a ping pong table (for entertaining kids of all ages). There is an illuminated, furnished covered rear terrace, and a patio with a barbecue and sea views. From this area, there are gates leading to private parking and illuminated terraced gardens.

Please note: arrivals after 20.00 hours are charged at 50 Euros. There is a final cleaning charge of 100 Euros, payable locally. A cot is not available at this villa.

Eraclea, Agrigento, Sicily

Montallegro is 8 kilometres away with most shopping essentials including banks and chemists. The sea, and sandy free beach with bars and restaurants is 800 metres on foot and 1000 metres by car (downhill from Villa Eraclea). The nearby supermarket is open June-September and restaurants open all year round.

Despite the tantalising temptations of sea and sand, this south-western coastline is also packed with antiquity, most notably nearby at Eraclea Minoa - a 6th century BC Mycenaean Age settlement with amphitheatre that hosts special performances of Greek plays - a wonderful combination of lovely setting and atmospheric ruins, especially at sunset.

Direct flights from the UK go to Palermo and Catania airports.

From Gatwick you can take British Airways, Monarch and Thomson flights to Catania. From Manchester you can fly with Monarch and Thomas Cook.

Additionally, Ryanair fly from direct from Birmingham and Dublin to Trapani.
