Sant' Agata, Amalfi Coast And Sorrento

Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi is located just 1.5km from the apartment.

One of the pearls in the Gulfs of Naples and Salerno facing Capri. Perched on a hill Sant’Agata offers a series of views over the sea and the two bays. Etruscans, Greeks and Romans were enchanted by the beauties for centuries. During the "Grand Tour" this place was one of the most favorite stops. Today Sant'Agata sui due Golfi is a very popular summer resort and an excellent centre for many excursions. Nowadays it's famous for its parish church, the monastery of Deserto, its natural beauties, archeological ruins, the Don Alfonso restaurant and several trails along the coast and inland.

The Amalfi coast is 7km from the apartments, Sorrento is 10km away and Naples (airport) is 55km.

Why Holiday in Amalfi Coast And Sorrento?

The Amalfi Coast is a stunning and well known stretch of mountainous coastline south of Naples, in Campania. The southern end of the Bay of Naples stretches out in a steep and rocky peninsula that reaches towards the Isle of Capri. Sorrento, another major tourist destination, looks back towards Naples from the north coast of the peninsula. The southern side of the peninsula is dotted with picturesque villages and towns clinging giddily to cliffs; this is what is known as the Amalfi Coast.

Sorrento is situated on a plain above the sea, overlooking the Bay of Naples. The view from Sorrento stretches back to the north, encompassing Vesuvius, the city of Naples, and the island of Ischia. The town is exceedingly popular with tourists. It has a pretty old town, a harbour with ferry departures to Capri, Amalfi and Naples, and is within easy reach of the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Herculaneum and the city of Naples. There is some good walking in the peninsula, and plenty of restaurants and bars for the less energetic.

The region is served by direct flights to Naples or Rome.

How To Get There

There are several airports flying direct from the UK to Naples and Rome.

Naples: Thomson flies from Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, Birmingham, Bristol, Bournemouth, Gatwick and Luton.

You can fly from Gatwick with British Airways and Monarch, who also fly from Manchester. From Stansted you can fly to Naples with Easyjet.

The two airports in Rome are the Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) and Ciampino.

Fiumicino: direct flights depart from Heathrow with British Airways and Alitalia. You can fly from Gatwick with British Airways, and from Manchester with Jet2.

Ciampino: you can fly direct from Bristol, East Midlands, Newcastle and Gatwick with Easyjet, and from Glasgow, Liverpool, East Midlands, Luton, Stansted and Dublin with Ryanair
