Originating from a 12th century Benedictine monastery and at an altitude of 860 metres above sea level, this agriturismo comprises of two apartments of which one is available.
Completely refurbished from top to bottom, Casa dei Ricordi features vaulted ceilings and stone cornices. You enter the apartment from a covered eating area into an airy and stylish living/dining room. The corner kitchen comes complete with a hob, oven, fridge/freezer and sink unit. There are two double/twin bedrooms, both decorated in traditional Italian style, one of which has direct access onto the glorious terrace.
There are excellent facilities here which include two beautiful vaulted stone restaurants, serving main meals and even offering short cooking courses during which guests shop for and pick their own ingredients, and learn to cook delicious local dishes. The restaurants are even featured in the 2004 Michelin Italia Guide. Furthermore, there is a shared swimming pool to enjoy in the Italian sunshine, which measures 12m x 6m and is 1.4m deep. Also worth a mention are the friendly, informative, and hospitable owners who will be on hand to help.
The lovely, spacious terrace at Casa dei Ricordi provides a grandstand over an amazing phenomenon. At six thirty most evenings, the mass of mountains known as the Dolomiti Lucane, or Basilicata's version of the Dolomites, turn from blue to pink - it's a spectacular sight. The apartment is located high at 860 meters above sea level.
Seclusion is the word to describe your location, surrounded by gently sloping fields and ringed by mountains. If you can drag yourself away from the Casa, the nearest town is Trivigno, just 4 kilometers away. Here you will find plenty of shops but the regional capital of Potenza is 20 kilometers away, where you will find a better range of shops, including the essentials such as banks and chemists.
Basilicata is Italy's last true wilderness, and therefore popular with our clients who just want to get away from it all. This is a land of high hills, deep forests and surprising, wonderful villages.
The region does not have any airports although direct flights to Brindisi, Bari and Naples are all convenient for access.
