Casa Dell'Architetto is arranged over two levels, with the ground floor housing a living/dining room with sliding doors that reveal stunning lake views. There is a single convertible sofa bed for use if required. The small but convenient kitchen has a hob and fridge, although we expect you'll want to eat out often given the close proximity of wonderful, family-run restaurants. Additionally there is a laundry room and a furnished outside terrace.
On the lower level, you'll find the bathroom complete with with half-bath and WC. However, the romantics will focus on the twin/double bedroom which enjoys lake views across Lake Como to the villages, islands and mountains beyond. The lower level also provides access to the boathouse and beach.
The two lower floors are reserved for our guests, who can also explore this section of Lake Como at will with the unlimited free use of the owner's rowing boat.
The town of Ossuccio, where there are shops, banks and chemists, is within walking distance, though this is along a main road. A more tranquil walk is to the village of Sala Comacina 300 metres away, along scenic lakeside paths. The beach that fronts the house is for public use, as are all waterfronts in Italy.
There are several direct flights from the UK to airports in Milan.
From Leeds Bradford you can fly to Milan Bergamo with Jet2. You can also fly from Manchester with Ryanair.
From Milan Linate you can fly from Gatwick with Easyjet, and from Heathrow with British Airways and Alitalia.
Easyjet flights from Bristol, Edinburgh and Gatwick, and British Airways flights from Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester go to Milan Malpensa.
You can fly from Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Manchester, Stansted, East Midlands, Newcastle, Bristol and Luton to Milan Orso Al Serio with Ryanair.
Where the Lombard rises into the Alps liesa string of deepest blue lakes which have long been popular with the well-heeled Milanese.
Direct flights are available to Milan (all airports) and Bergamo.
