Converted into a hotel in 1958 and completely renovated in 1992, the 45 rooms have the same charm of the Villa with sumptuous furniture and fabrics, Venetian stuccos and restored frescoes, 35 of them have terraces overlooking the lake's calm waters and, of course, all of them have modern comforts such as air conditioning, satellite TV, safe, modem connection and hair dryer. On the ground floor the Raimondi restaurant offers guests the opportunity of spending an enjoyable evening in a romantic 18th century ambiance sampling Lombard dishes and wines. (Guests should note that the Villa Flori does not currently offer non-smoking rooms).
Overlooking the splendid panorama of Lake Como, Villa Flori is in a beautiful private park full of old trees. The tiny ports on Lake Como, crammed with boats and jabbering fishermen, are a sight to behold. The 14th century town of Como, with it's quaint arcaded streets, has so much beauty and interest to offer.
There are several direct flights from the UK to airports in Milan.
From Leeds Bradford you can fly to Milan Bergamo with Jet2. You can also fly from Manchester with Ryanair.
From Milan Linate you can fly from Gatwick with Easyjet, and from Heathrow with British Airways and Alitalia.
Easyjet flights from Bristol, Edinburgh and Gatwick, and British Airways flights from Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester go to Milan Malpensa.
You can fly from Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Manchester, Stansted, East Midlands, Newcastle, Bristol and Luton to Milan Orso Al Serio with Ryanair.
Where the Lombard rises into the Alps liesa string of deepest blue lakes which have long been popular with the well-heeled Milanese.
