Villa Concetta is peaceful, secluded and very well appointed. The grounds have lots of space, with extensive enclosed lawns, and contain an enticing brand new swimming pool. The house itself is modern yet homely, comfortable and well-furnished - an ideal family holiday base whose location, close to Lake Vico, is a bit different from the usual destinations of Tuscany and Umbria.
Access to the grounds is secure via electric gates and there is ample parking space. The illuminated grounds are stunning and include a private swimming pool measuring 6m x 12m and 2.2m x 1.2m deep. Perfect for al fresco dining, there are outside patios and an eating area with a barbeque.
On the ground floor of this villa, there is a living/dining room with an open fireplace, which is cosy in winter months. There is also a traditional pizza oven and a kitchen, which is well equipped with a 5 gas ring stove, double sink unit and dishwasher. Despite these excellent catering facilities, there is a nearby restaurant if guests prefer not to cook. There is a shower room with WC and one double bedroom also on the ground floor.
The steps up to the first floor arrive at a landing, off which there is a sitting room with TV, video and DVD player. There is also a second kitchen on this floor fitted with an electric oven, 4 ring gas stove, double sink unit and fridge/freezer. French windows lead from here onto the large balcony area and covered, furnished eating area, perfect for warm summer's nights. Conveniently there is also a laundry room with washing machine and ironing facilities. The sleeping accommodation comprises of one double bedroom and two single bedrooms. There is also a bathroom with shower and WC.
Please note: the swimming pool is open between 15th May and 30th September (weather permitting).
The nearest town for shops and essentials such as banks, and chemists is Caprarola, starting point for walks in the woods covering the slopes of the Cimini mountains, also the site of the Palazzo Farnese, a very fine piece of architecture with frescoed rooms by Federico and Taddeo Zuccari. Close by to the house is a restaurant if guests prefer not to cook. Lake Vico is Europe's oldest volcanic lake whose tranquil shores are lined with numerous clean beaches, bars and atmospheric restaurants. Just two kilometres away to the east is our Villa.
There's plenty to do in the area: Orvieto, Narni (the very centre of Italy), and even Rome, are all within easy reach via the Autostrada del Sole.
There are direct flights from the UK to Rome's two aiports: Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) and Ciampino.
Fiumicino: flights depart from Heathrow with British Airways and Alitalia. You can fly from Gatwick with British Airways, and from Manchester with Jet2.
Ciampino: you can fly from Bristol, East Midlands, Newcastle and Gatwick with Easyjet, and from Glasgow, Liverpool, East Midlands, Luton, Stansted and Dublin with Ryanair.
