You cannot stay indoors for long at Villa dei Gerani with its spacious beamed, furnished terrace, complete with barbecue and elevated views through two panoramic arches. It is a marvellous vantage point where you can eat, drink and relax.
Set above a quiet secondary road, Villa dei Gerani is immersed in exotic colour, mostly from the vibrant red geraniums - hence its name. To enter, you go through a gate and up a series of illuminated steps to the front door. The main entrance opens into a rustic kitchen, which is very well-equipped with fridge/freezer, sink unit, washing machine and four gas ring hob.
An archway leads you through into the beamed living/dining room, at the end of which are a few steps leading up to the sleeping accommodation. This consists of one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a shower room with WC. Both bedrooms have air-conditioning.
The estate's open spaces are also available to you and include a high quality swimming pool, restaurant and tennis courts. There is also an outside restaurant and breakfast room at guests' disposal within a 200m walk.
Please note: late arrivals after 20:00 hours will be charged at 50 Euros. There is a final cleaning charge of 50 Euros. The cost of a hiring a cot is 50 Euros per week. All fees are payable locally.
The ancient city of Syracuse is 15 kilometres away and is one of the most enjoyable places in Sicily in which to spend time.
For two millennia it has retained the same general city plan with the island of Ortygia, still the heart and soul of the city, centred around Piazza Archimede, Syracuse's most famous son.
Direct flights from the UK go to Palermo and Catania airports.
For Palermo, Easyjet flies from Gatwick and Ryanair from Stansted. Alitalia also flies from Heathrow.
From Gatwick you can take British Airways, Monarch and Thomson flights to Catania. From Manchester you can fly with Monarch and Thomas Cook.
Additionally, Ryanair fly from direct from Birmingham and Dublin to Trapani.
